PC Holiday Wishes

From a fellow poster at ACOC

For My Liberal/Progressive Friends:

"Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, our best
wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible,
low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter
solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the
religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your
choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or
traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or
secular traditions at all.

We also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and
medically uncomplicated recognition of the generally accepted calendar
year 2008, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of
other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America
great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other
country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere. In addition,
without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability,
religious faith or sexual preference of the wishers.

By accepting these greetings, you are accepting these terms. This
greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely
transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no
promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for
herself or himself or others, and is void where prohibited by law and
is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher.

This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual
application of good tidings for a period of one year or until the
issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first, and
warranty is limited to replacement of this wish or issuance of a new
wish at the sole discretion of the wisher."

For My Conservative Friends:

Why spoiled kids drive me nuts...

This is an interesting article by Selwyn duke for Thanksgiving. The rich and spoiled have so much to learn, just a little reminder about what causes true happiness.
The spirit of entitlement, however, is born of just the opposite: A false sense of sanctity.  When someone lives an unexamined life, when he fancies that he has been immaculately conceived and is blind to his own faults, he will always see the glass as half empty.  Why, he has been denied his birthright, as a demigod such as himself should have the world at his feet.  He is owed this and that, and he will protest and picket and pout until he gets what he has coming.  He certainly has something coming alright.

Come Home

Come Home

I think Michael Yon is an excellent photo journalist, he has had the fortunate privilege of actually being imbedded with the military... he has seen it first hand, unlike many other reporters, who stay safe in the green zone, and rely on "sources" ... he is the source

I enjoy this story, because it says so much about what is going on over there... and there are some good things happening

Iraq is doing well...course we would not know

Victor Davis Hanson is such an excellent writer... he really hits the nail on the head. We are not seeing Iraq in the news, because there is not alot of "drama" ... plenty of progress though

There's an old expression about war: "Victory has many fathers, while defeat is an orphan." But in the case of Iraq, it seems the other way around. We've blamed many for the ordeal of the last four years, but it is the American victory in Anbar province that now seems without parents.

Over the last few months, the U.S. military forced Sunni insurgents in Anbar to quit fighting. This enemy, in the heart of the so-called Sunni Triangle, had been responsible for most American casualties in the war and was the main cause of unrest in Iraq. Even more unexpectedly, some of the defeated tribes then joined in an alliance of convenience with their American victors to chase al Qaeda from Iraq's major cities.

As President Bush recently told U.S. troops about Anbar province: "It was once written off as lost. It is now one of the safest places in Iraq."

Dems... yea they are the ones with the money

Some of us know this already, it is just now in print...The scary part is that this party of the rich likes to pretend that they are poor, so regular people feel sorry for them and contribute.

Democrats party of rich, study finds

By Donald Lambro

Sen. Charles E. Schumer, New York Democrat, opposes Mr. Rangel's plan to tax hedge-fund compensation at 35 percent as regular pay.

Democrats like to define themselves as the party of poor and middle-income Americans, but a new study says they now represent the majority of the nation's wealthiest congressional districts.

In a state-by-state, district-by-district comparison of wealth concentrations based on Internal Revenue Service income data, Michael Franc, vice president of government relations at the Heritage Foundation, found that the majority of the nation's wealthiest congressional jurisdictions were represented by Democrats.

Politics of Planting

I find it interesting...as my friend Tammy Bruce says "Newsflash for the party, Hillary, and every other clown standing up on the stage: If you're afraid of facing the American people without a net, how in God's name can you face a world filled with tyrants who will not play your game?
